Nihongo Bashi to provide Japanese language training to Cognizant recruits

Leading provider of Japanese language, culture and business management in India, Nihongo Bashi has been selected by IT major Cognizant to impart its flagship Academic Japanisation Program to Cognizant's latest batch of college campus recruits.

25 third-year engineering students from the St.Thomas College of Engineering & Technology in Kolkatta have been selected by Cognizant to undergo the intensive six-month programme. By creating a pool of bi-lingual professionals, Cognizant is striving to provide Japanese clients with high-value IT outsourcing solutions.

At the end of the programme, the students will be ready to take theJapanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), which is held in December every year. Besides attaining the JLPT Level 3 certification, students who successfully complete the program will also be awarded Nihongo Bashi's Maven Level 3 certificate.

"We are pleased to work with Cognizant to help meet their requirements for bi-lingual professionals," said Karthik Tirupathi, President of Nihongo Bashi. "These students already have the right technical skills; by acquiring the Japanese language proficiency by the time they graduate, they will be well prepared to live and work well in Japan and with the Japanese."

With bilateral trade between India and Japan growing fast, there is a dire need for bi-lingual professionals in India who can help companies tap into the new opportunities. Nihongo Bashi is helping meet this demand with its Japanese language and culture training programs in the country. Since 2004, the company has already helped 800 students pass the various JLPT exams.

At present, Nihongo Bashi conducts Japanese classes in India in Bangalore, Chennai, NOIDA, Coimbatore, Kolkatta and Pune, with plans to expand to other cities in India soon.
