RIICO, JETRO sign MOU to bring Japanese investment to Rajasthan

Japanese investments in India may be a small proportion of overall foreign direct investments (FDI) coming into the country. Yet, there has certainly been considerable progress made recently with initiatives from both governments as well as the private sector.

In yet another indication that more Japanese companies are planning a foray into the India market, the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corp Ltd (RIICO) and the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) have signed a MOU to help Japanese investors set up industrial establishments in the north-western Indian state of Rajasthan. According to the story, reported by IANS, the two trade bodies will work together for smooth implementation of investment projects from Japanese investors.

Japanese companies have been slower to enter the Indian market compared to their counterparts in Korea for a number of reasons. However, in recent times, economies ties between the two countries have warmed up significantly, opening up a new array of excellent career opportunities for Indian professionals.
